Oook! so exams month is oooooover, yay! It's been stressful (more than ever before) but i'm really happy with the way everything has turned out. Now, no more passiflorine for a few months. It's crazy how you don't realise how nervous you've been until you are finished and you find bottles and bottles of this flower-made-anti-nerves syrup all around the room. And i mean EVERYWHERE, on the couch, on the table, on the desk, near the bed...even in the shoes closet!
Now, i think i deserve some days of relaxation :)

Oook, el mes de exámenes ya ha pasado, ¡bien! Ha sido muy estresante (más que ningún año anterior) pero estoy bastante contenta con los resultados. Ahora, no más passiflorine por unos meses. Es una locura como no te das cuenta de lo nerviosa que estás hasta que todo acaba y descubres botellas de este milagro antinervios hecho de flores y cosas de hippies, por toda la habitación. Y quiero decir EN TODOS LOS SITIOS, en el sofá, en la mesa, en la mesa de estudio, al lado de la cama...¡hasta en el armario de los zapatos!

Ahora creo que me merezco unos días de descanso :)

Amazing idea by Yayoi Kusama. Because life can be a blank canvas, but everybody needs some color (the more the better!).
Found it at ignant.de, an amazing site full of photography, design and architecture. Even if you don't understand a word of german it's worth to visit it, the Stendhal syndrome is guaranteed.

Encontrado en ignant.de, una página genial llena de fotografía, diseño y arquitectura. Aunque no hables ni una palabra de alemán, merece la pena visitarla, el síndrome de Stendhal está asegurado.

 I'm really into short boots lately, (not just me, everybody seems to be too) but i came across these beauties in my closet and had to rescue them from the boredom and oblivion. I'm happy i did, the brown militar boots should never go out of fashion, they go with everything. They even add a glimpse of dignity to the oldest and most destroyed shorts i have!

Últimamente me decanto mucho más por los botines que por las botas (no solo yo, prácticamente todo el mundo), pero encontré estas viejas glorias en el vestidor y tuve que rescatarlas del aburrimiento y el olvido. Me alegro de haberlo hecho, las botas marrones militares nunca deberían pasar de moda porque van con todo. Incluso consiguen añadir un toque de dignidad a mis shorts más destruídos, tarea nada fácil.

Here you have my new pair of New Balance, i've been wanting to buy them for a while but at the last moment i always prefered to spend that money in something more stylish. Aha, that was the mistake! I've been wearing these with ripped jeans quite a lot lately (yep, dark exams period) and not only they're super comfortable and i've received lots of compliments about them, but i've also had lots of gazes from bearded hipsters. It's like you become instanctly one of the gang with these. A great christmas present that came with an unexpected cool effect.

He aquí mis nuevas New Balance, hacía tiempo que quería comprármelas pero en el último momento siempre prefería gastar ese dinero en algo más estiloso. ¡Ajá! ¡ahí estaba mi error!  Últimamente se han convertido en mi uniforme junto con los vaqueros rotos (el periodo de oscuridad estilística conocido como exámenes) y no solo son súper cómodas y he recibido numerosos cumplidos por ellas, sino que además son un imán para los hipsters barbudos. Es como si te convirtieras automáticamente en una de la pandi cuando las llevas. Un gran regalo de navidad que ha venido con un inesperado efecto cool.

Hay un mundo enorme ahí fuera esperando a ser parte de ti y yo espero empezar a disfrutarlo (más) en verano de 2013 sin fijar fecha de vuelta. Solo una mochila, una cámara, una moleskine, algunos lápices de colores y mucho que aprender. Primera parada: puede que Bután, puede que Canadá. Incluso puede que me deje llevar por Death Cab for Cutie y me vaya a verlo todo from Bangkok to Calgary. Y después, ya se verá.

It seems that wearing white jeans in winter is synonymous with elegance, words of Inès de la Fressange, not mine. So i decided to embrace the weird elegance and go for the summer-look-in-winter style, changing the white jeans for a pair of white cut offs and wearing my trusty supergas, which are obviously summer shoes, but come on! This is Valencia, we don't know cold weather really. I combined it all with navy and red to achieve the complete sailor ensemble. Tada!

Parece que llevar pantalones blancos en invierno es sinónimo instantáneo de elegancia, palabras de Inès de la Fressange, no mías. Así que decidí probar con la curiosa propuesta para ser más elegante y unirme al estilo verano-en-invierno. Cambiando los vaqueros blancos por shorts y llevando mis fieles superga que son, obviamente, zapatillas de verano. Pero seamos realistas, esto es Valencia, no conocemos el frío de verdad. Todo combinado con azul marino y rojo para conseguir el look marinero de permiso definitivo. ¡Tachán!

Between love and hate like the strokes, that's the way i feel towards the spanish brand Bimba y Lola. Love to the quirky librarian style of their lookbooks and the quality of lots of their pieces. Hate, well let's say love absence (let's keep the zen attitude), to the fact that's becoming one of these brands people only buy for the logo, with the consequences it brings.

But when my personal shopper came with all these stuff (among other pieces), everything seemed just perfect to my eyes, no matter there's a small logo in the bag. In fact, it has become the perfect ally to keep all i need when i go to the library, from the laptop to the apple for the evening. ¡Hi Mary Poppins syndrome!

Entre el odio y el amor a lo the strokes, así me siento respecto a Bimba y Lola. Amor al estilo bibliotecaria de sus lookbooks y a la calidad de muchas de sus prendas. Odio, bueno digamos ausencia de amor (mantengamos el zen), a que se esté convirtiendo en una de esas marcas que se venden por el logo, con las consecuencias que eso conlleva.
Pero bueno, cuando vino mi personal shopper con todo este arsenal ( y más cosas ), me pareció todo tan bonito que me dio igual que haya un galguito en el bolso. Se ha convertido en mi mejor aliado para ir a la biblioteca, perfecto para meter desde el portátil hasta la manzana de media tarde. ¡Hola síndrome de Mary Poppins!

I could write something poetic about this last picture, talk about my obsession with flying or tell you the truth. That is, i was just doing the same thing i used to do when i was 3 years old and i pretended to fly with my cape (aka coat). I'm going through a second-childhood phase thanks to my niece, feels good to be a little bit (more) silly sometimes.

Podría escribir algo poético sobre la última foto, hablaros de mi obsesión por volar o deciros la verdad. Es decir, que simplemente estaba haciendo lo mismo que solía hacer con 3 años y creía que podía volar con mi capa (vale, abrigo). Estoy pasando por una fase de segunda infancia por culpa de (gracias a) mi sobrina, está bastante bien ser un poco (más) tonta de vez en cuando.

 Here you have a corner of my room with a festive display with polaroids and origami paper cubes. I'm a total sucker for party-ish elements and retro style photography so this makes me happy every time i see it, which is quite a lot, since i'm ill and studying at home. About the polaroid, i must say it's quite addictive and i can't wait to get more film, this one is from the impossible project in Berlin.

He aquí un rinconcito de mi habitación, una guirnalda de lo más festiva con polaroids y cubos de papel de origami. Como soy megafan de los elementos festivos (dame banderitas y bombillas de colores y te pediré matrimonio) y de las fotos con estilo retro, esto me hace sonreír cada vez que lo veo, es decir bastante, ya que ahora mismo estoy enferma y estudiando en casa. Sobre la polaroid, debo deciros que es bastante adictiva y estoy que me muero por conseguir más película, ésta es de impossible project de Berlín.
